Measurements & Conversions

Accurate measurement keeps cocktail proportions consistent. A jigger with marked increments is the easiest tool for the job.

What is a jigger?

A jigger is a small measuring tool used behind the bar. Double-ended versions commonly combine two capacities, and many modern jiggers include smaller internal markings.

What is a dash?

A dash is intentionally less exact than an ounce measurement and can vary by dasher bottle. When a recipe specifies bitters by dashes, use the bottle's dasher top consistently.
